This time 4 years ago I was in a coffee shop in Brisbane, I was busy planning, structuring and writing my first Google Ads course, which was called âGoogle Ads Search Bootcampâ.
I had not yet uploaded my first YouTube video...
I had only just settled on the name âDefine Digital Academyâ...
And I had absolutely no idea if anyone would even care, let alone buy my course...
But I kept planning and writing my first course, and even said to myself if only a few people buy it I would have achieved my goal of helping people use Google Ads to grow their businesses.
This has always been (and always will be) my core driving focus, to help people not only understand but also be able to set-up, structure & optimise their Google Ads campaigns.
You may ask, why is this so important to me?
It is because I am acutely aware of what it is like to stay up at night wondering how you are going to get more sales or generate more leads so that your business can not only survive but also be successful.
Once you have run a business you see sales or leads or conversions (whatever you call them) differently. They are not just sales or leads as they mean so much more, likeâŠ

When I first started my first business I felt powerless, every week I would reach out to our marketing agency that we had trusted with the marketing of our business and ask âwhy are we not getting any leads?â
And while the responses were different each week, basically they didnât care.
Thatâs when I learnt that no one cares as much about your business as you do.
I remember the day back in 2010 when I met with a friend of mine who had also started his own business and was getting some success with this thing called âGoogle Adwordsâ (thatâs what it was called back then).
I fired the marketing agency, and started running my own ads.
I knew nothing about Google Adwords, so I would wake up in the morning before work to learn as much as I could, reading blogs and Googleâs own documentation. And then at night I would implement what I had learnt and analyse my campaigns, my website & my sales emails until the most amazing thing happened.
It worked. The leads started to roll in and I saved my business (which is still running today).
But through that whole process the one feeling I felt that I never wanted to feel again was being powerless.
That is why I am so passionate about teaching people Google Ads because for me when you understand Google Ads you can not only save your business but also grow & scale it too.
That is my mission and the driving motivation behind Define Digital Academy.
To put it simply, Define Digital Academy exists to empower business owners to grow & scale their own businesses using Google Ads.
